I just came across this and wanted to share for all landlords to WATCH. I think its a bit of a Scary Bill. But I also think that Trump would veto it.

Zero chance of passing the House, let alone the Senate. I'm a pretty liberal dude but this is seriously loco stuff here. The $2k per adult is also crazy. If there's 250 million adults in the US that would be 500 billion dollars per month. Half a year would be the entire federal budget. Apparently some of these people didn't pass math class.

I feel landlords like us will get screwed. I am worried with all the expenses beside mortgage. Apparently, we can get some kind of a fund to cover that but you have to freeze monthly rent for 5 years. Who is going to freeze the property tax and other expenses to go up ? :)
