This Wednesday, I'm the guest speaker at New England REIA. We will be speaking about the different ways you can be involved in real estate investing, the skills needed for each type of investing, and the risks involved. The presentation will be interactive and is a great way for beginning investors to investigate different approaches and what is right for them.

Full disclosure: You can definitely get this same information on BP by reading, but this is also a networking opportunity. You'll meet lots of fellow investors, both new and seasoned, and related professionals.

I don't run this group, but there is a fee to attend and there are memberships which reduce your costs of attending, and they offer many discounts to the membership.

    Looking forward to it Ann, should be a good meeting.

    Any new investors in the North East MA or Southern NH areas should try to get out to this. The NEREIA is a very good meeting in general but this is a great topic for newbies.

    If you have been looking at much on BiggerPockets you will already be familiar with Ann and her vast array of knowledge. If you haven't seen it here, well she has a vast array of knowledge and experience and knows a lot of stuff about a lot of topics. No doubt the meeting will entertaining and informational, and with no BS - Ann doesn't do that you will get it straight and she won't pretend to know the answer to something she isn't sure about.

    FYI no affiliation with her or the group other than knowing Ann for many years, having a ton of respect for her and being a fan of previous talks on various topics.

    I want to include input from other local investors also, usually there are lots of related professions at the NEREIA. Maybe @Brian Lucier and others will chime in with their input. If you're there, Shaun, you can add to the conversation about rehabbing.

    It's always better when it's a conversation and not one-way.

    I like interactive presentations as well and will be happy to interject if I have anything I think will contribute to the conversation as an answer or a (hopefully) good question.

    I second @Shaun Reilly comments. I've known @Ann Bellamy for several years now and she an awesome person who always gives her honest opinion. It doesn't hurt that she's very knowledgeable in various aspects of investing and is well connecting in the investment community.
