Come join us for our monthly REI Professionals Lunch in Downtown Honolulu! These casual lunches are designed to bring Honolulu real estate investors (at any stage) together for networking and discussion.

This month, we will be hosting Melanie Johnston, a realtor with Hawaii roots who now lives and works in Arizona (Phoenix, Scottsdale, Paradise Valley). There will be no pitching of any products or services; just some good information for investors looking into Arizona and other out-of-state markets.

We will discuss:

  • A general overview of the metro Phoenix landscape and how to evaluate out-of state markets.
  • Census data and reliable sources of information for migratory patterns, employment, crime, etc.
  • General tips on building your out-of-state dream team.

@Travis Henry I'm really looking forward to meeting your members and sharing my insights into the Arizona real estate market. Please feel free to check out my website at

And if anyone has specific interests or questions they want to send me in advance, I will be happy to bring that information.

Thank you to everyone who welcomed me and showed me the true meaning of Aloha Spirit! And thank you to @Travis Henry and @Kiley N. for spearheading such a great group.

I really enjoyed hearing how you are each investing. I hope you enjoyed the information I shared about the Metro Phoenix real estate market. If you have any questions or would like to set up any auto MLS searches to get to know different zip codes, neighborhoods or property types, reach out to me and I can easily set those up. And, no matter what off-island market you pursue, don't forget that sold searches are a great way to track a segment that interests you.

Wishing you Bigger Pockets for all your investing returns!

Big mahalo @Melanie Johnston for sharing your insights into the Phoenix market with our group.  Your knowledge and experience in the market was evident from the outset and attendees had great things to say about your presentation. I'm glad to hear that you've connected with several people individually and we are fortunate to have you as a resource in AZ.  Please enjoy the rest of your stay in the islands and we look forward to having you back in the future.
