So this home is a pre-foreclosure, right in Riverside(which is a very hot area of the city of Jacksonville), I found it on Trulia. I know you want to look off the MLS for deals....but is it possible there are good deals on these sites like Zillow and Trulia? Going to look at it today around 5:30. Listed on Trulia at $180k. It is a 4BR/2B home with a property behind it that has 2 units (1BR/1B each). I looked in the area it seemed like each home on the street was over $200k and seemed like a great neighborhood. I don't know what I am even pre-approved for in a conventional loan yet but I filled out the paperwork today and sent it in and I'm sure it will get sent back saying there were a couple things missing. How long is that process usually? I was told by the realtor that this home is in need of updating but nothing major in the sellers disclosure. I would definitely get a home inspection though before moving much further. I just feel like this is a good deal....but really don't know exactly what a good deal is yet. Least I can do is go look and see what its all about.

Hey I just called and got an appointment to see that property at 4:30. Don't be surprised if it's under contract by the time you get there.
Just kidding... A superficial look at those numbers looks very good for Riverside. very good indeed. I wonder if it got any damage from Irma. Some buildings in that hood are older.

That area sits pretty high so I doubt there was any flooding from Irma. I bet you are looking at some serious reno costs (looking at the pics) but it would still likely make for a good house hack. 1br rentals do well in that area.
Viewing went well... went to look into 203K loans and could only really get a loan for around $150k including construction costs so the deal was there just me being a single guy in my first deal financing wasn't there where I needed it to be. But I got some offering experience and I'm just going to keep learning. I need to hit the local REIA and also do any BP members have meet ups in Jax? Fill me in
