Terre Haute Indiana -Real Estate Investment Groups?

Terre Haute, IN · Member since 2017 · 35 posts · 6 votes

Hello All,

Still getting caught up in reading and learning about Real Estate Investment. However, I wanted to start meeting and networking with the local Real Estate Investment community. Doing a quick google search, I am not finding any groups here. Any locals from the Terre Haute Indiana area know of any groups?

Thank you,

Hello @Chris Wood. I am new to the area myself but getting more familiar with it as time goes on. I will say that the atmosphere of a property can change within 1 street, so get to know it well or find someone that does.

    Thanks for asking.

    Hello Ben,

What kind of market are you looking to get into within the terre haute area? There's many different marketshare that are available here, but it all depends on the location and what you want to deal with.

    Hello William,

Currently, I am leaning towards Rentals. However, I am also fascinated with notes. Notes will probably be something I get in down the road.

I am meeting with about 2 people a week from bigger pockets over coffee and enjoying the experience. If you are interested, I would be open in meeting some time to learn about what you do in the real estate world.

    Thank you,

@Ben Elliott - I know your post was over year ago, but have you had any luck finding a bigger pockets meet-up group there in Terre Haute? There is a really solid one here in Bloomington IN, but Terre Haute is a market that really interest me. And just out of curiosity, have you started playing around with note investing yet?

    @Ben Elliott

I live, work and invest in Terre Haute. I currently own and manage 3 duplexes near Indiana State. Are you still investing in Terre Haute?

    Do you have any recommendations?

Todd, I recommend Stone Realty group property management or Hill Valley property management. They are the best in Terre Haute.

    Greetings All,

I was wondering if any of you have a recommendation for a real estate attorney in the Terre Haute area.   I am an out of state note investor, and have a note that is held in my companies 401K Trust, where a neighbor is suing the borrower in small claims court.   The plaintiff has added me personally to the lawsuit.   I was wondering if anyone on this list can recommend an attorney they have worked with in the past for real estate matters?   A perfect skillset besides real estate, contract for deeds in particular, would be a knowledge of lending laws, and of course Employee Retirement Income Security Act or 1974 (ERISA).   I doubt I will find anyone this specialized, but can't hurt to ask.   Anyway, its the first time I have been involved as a defendant and lender in a dispute between the borrower and a neighbor.

    Thanks,
    Dean
