Bartlett NH Trying to Limit Short Term Rentals

Today the Bartlett Planning Board announced they are going to discuss limiting short term rentals at an upcoming meeting.  

There will be a planning board meeting on January 3rd to discuss this.  For anyone who works/lives in the Bartlett, NH (White Mountains) area and would be impacted by this, you may want to consider attending this meeting to make your voice heard.

    I really don't understand why towns are doing this....Especially towns that thrive on tourism.  I'm sorry to hear this Mike.  Hopefully, there will be enough investors to attend and make an impact.

    I live in an area that thrives on tourism, and every jurisdiction in the area has limited them.....and here at least the answer is simple as to why. The residents do not want them in their neighborhoods. How many people are running air bnbs? Maybe 1 out of 1,000. Youve got 200 or 300 out of 1,000 that dont care then 500-700 that dont want them in their neighborhoods. They may even be people who prefer to stay in them when they travel, but they dont want one next door. 

    Every jurisdiction in the DC area limited them....every vote was unanimous. There was no opposition fight in any of the jurisdictions while 100% of the lobbying against was unified and headed primarily by neighborhood associations.
