Eggs all in one basket

Something that's been looping my mind.

Placing all our eggs in one basket sounds like it's easier to carry and then one sudden fall... We could lose them all.

Something I've noticed throughout my seasons:

Jack of all trades, a master of none. But oftentimes, better than a master of one.

Absolutely learn all you can. Be all you can be. But.. it may be time to hang up the one hat and try on a few more.

Not because you've failed, you've actually proven to be quite successful but because when the time comes where it's no longer fulfilling.. We hang up the hat. Spin our wheels tirelessly and still end up putting the same hat back on, that we already took off. Why?

Because it feels familiar?

Familiarity isn't the same as fulfilling. You know it. I know it and so do many others. That's okay though, it's human and I get it. I think of it like this though..

The investor who does one deal and calls it good. Works, until it doesn't. And then maybe they have a reserve. Maybe they have a margin to handle it all. But also... Maybe they don't... So where does it come from then? Their W-2? Their savings plan? Credit cards? See where I'm going?

They placed all their eggs in one basket, assuming it';; work out, time and time again.. It will but not in that manner. We must diversify. We must learn, grow and build. Folks may assume success is the absence of hardship.. But from my lens... Success is the presence of growth, discomfort and challenge.

Not because we've failed, not unless we quit. Because life is life. It's not concrete, it flows ->

Every challenge. Every rep. Every deal. Every dollar. That's progress. That's growth. That's success through the unseen, unglamorous, boring form it appears. Even when we can't see it.

What costs more?

Regret or progress?

"We're here for a good time, not a long time."

Don't spare a moment waiting for the perfect and ideal conditions.

Don't waste resources you can't but back from the store shelves, on some nonsense. Even when we feel it's larger than it really is.

Don't continue to stare into the rearview mirror, expecting it to direct us toward the future.

That's what the windshield is for :)
