Barber from Brooklyn wants to learn fix and flip the right way — looking for someone

Hey, my name is Farrukh. I’m a barber in Brooklyn, been here 4 years.

I’ll be straight with you — I haven’t done a flip. I’ve watched a ton of YouTube, done my reading, but I know that’s not the same as real experience. I’m not going to pretend otherwise.

What I want is simple. I want to find someone who actually knows this business and just tell me what to do. I’ll show up, I’ll listen, I’ll do the work — and I won’t complain. I’m not looking to reinvent anything, I just want to learn by doing it for real next to someone who’s been through it.

I’m quiet, precise, and I take my job seriously. As a barber you learn fast that people trust you with something important — and you either show up for that or you don’t. I always do.

My reason is personal. I want to be independent and take care of my mom so she finally doesn’t have to work. That keeps me going on the days when it’s hard.

I don’t have capital but I have time, two hands, and I won’t let you down.

If you’re experienced and need someone reliable on the ground in NY/NJ — I’m here.”

Thanks for posting! A couple things that you have going for you, one you have a little bit of a flexible work schedule now, you are teachable it sounds like, and you are willing to do the work. Not everyone has these options as you do since you are a barber you can change you schedule, work weekends/nights and more.

    Some suggestions:

    1. I would link up with people in your area that are doing deals and see how you can add value
    2. Sounds like you are willing to do what it takes, so the people you link up with see if you are able to work part-time for them and value add that way.
    3. Go to local meetups with people doing deals, have capital and are doing flips.
    4. Your backyard and the areas within a 1 hour radius are the areas and people you want to tap into. The people here on the BP site and checking out YT and all is great! The real knowledge comes from getting into the mix in real life and doing deals

    Good luck!
