Hello, I am located in Missouri and was wondering if anyone has recommendations on good REIA's in the Kansas City area. Will be spending some time in this area and wanting to connect with other investors, particularly individuals in the short-term rental/VRBO space.

My group is Mid-America Association of Real Estate Investors. We meet on the 2nd Tuesday in Overland Park, KS. We typically have about 150 people attend over the evening.
We have networking ad a vendor hall from 6 to 7, great tme to meet people, ask questions, and learn things. Then we have a presentation 7 to 9.
February is about identifying, dealing with and disclosing bad thins in our houses: Asbestos, Lead, Mold, Radon, Meth, oher contaminants.
March is about fining and using private lenders, great or those needing fungind and for this considering being private lenders.
June is creative deal structuring.
Also ask your local Springfield REIA leaders for connections in KC as I know th have a few.

Thank you Kim, I will definitely check it out when I am in the area. Also, I am already a member of the local REIA @Casey, It's a great group! Just will be working in new areas soon and wanting to know of other great groups.

Make sure to check out Kansas City Real Estate Investors a MAREI Facebook Group! A lot of times people will post off-market deals. There are a lot of investors in that group too :)

Update all - it looks like we are in this COVID-19 mess for the long haul which means MAREI has gone virtual. So if you want to connect with LOCAL Investors in the Kansas City Market who invest here regularly, who know the market, who find deals, who buy houses, who fund deals, who renovation and perform maintenance, coming to a VIRTUAL MAREI meeting is a great way to do it.
We utilize the Chat box on zoom ALOT so people can connect
We have break out sessions so you can TALK to real live people in the area briefly and potentially take that chat offline later in the week.
We have local market updates so you know whats going on. Sometimes these are about the numbers like they are tonight and other times we just get updates from local professionals to see what they see happing in their business like we did last month.
We have case studies from local investors so you can see who is doing deals and what real numbers look like.
We have local and national industry providers who share what they can do to help your business RIGHT now.
And last we have educational speakers on various topics. Sometimes they are local like we have tonight and sometimes they are on more of a national scale.
And we are the 2nd Tuesday of the month, and for a few more months at least we are on Zoom and even when we go back to in person meetings, we will still be maintaining a virtual meeting as everyone seems to like it so much for the ease and convenience. Starts at 6pm CST TONIGHT I hope you can join us.
