Hi All,
I'm looking for recommendations for an real estate attorney that specializes in international transactions. I would love to speak with someone that knows the ins and outs of getting financing back in the States when your primary income may be in a foreign currency. Anyone know someone they can recommend that may be able to help me with this? Appreciate all insight. Thanks!

@Tim Robinson You can invest with foreign income in US properties. It's probably even easier for you than foreign nationals as you already have some history here, passport, SS#, probably a bank account, things like that. You just have to get with the right lender. Some get it, some don't. I have lots of international clients here in Texas. Some live here, some don't. It might be slightly more challenging, but it can be done. I really don't think it matters much that you have foreign currency income as long as it is documented. You have pay stubs from your employer, you put it in the bank, you can print bank statements, and everything more or less makes sense. Sometimes the language can be a challenge, but in Holland I don't think language issues will be challenging. Wouldn't surprise me if you can't already print bank statements in English or your pay stubs in English...but even if not, I don't think it will be a big deal. Employment verification is probably easy since I would guess most HR department have someone that speaks basic English at minimum.
Do you want an attorney to answer your questions about a loan? or something else?
I would think your friends will be CPA and loan officer. You are still filing US tax returns right since you are US citizen? That will help too.

Thanks for the input @Bruce Lynn! My wife and I are actually paid in US dollars, but I'm asking for some potential clients of mine. And yes, you are correct that in Holland the language barrier is rarely if ever an issue, which makes life a lot easier. I will also follow up with my CPa to get some more information. Thanks again
