Looking to invest in Columbus Ohio

I’m looking to invest in Columbus Ohio from China and I would like to find a remodeling contractor team to work with. Is there a company that inspects and evaluates properties prior to buying? So that I know what needs to be done before I invest in one? Sincerely, Shan

Tons of home inspectors out there. You should always hire a home inspector prior to closing on any home you haven't seen personally. You can write your offers contingent on an inspection. Very common practice here so won't be an issue with the sellers either.

@Shan Cao Sounds like you’d do best looking for turnkey. Search these forums for Columbus Ohio turnkey :)

Flipping a property from that far away may be VERY difficult. You may be better off going with a buy and hold. That is just my opinion.

@Shan Cao You've got lots of options. Once you get into contract, ask for a video walk-thru and still images from your agent. This will be a quick way to discover issues that may be a deal killer prior to dropping $$$ for an inspection. If the walk-thru is good, hire a qualified property inspector that specializes in the asset you are investing in. Try to find an agent with an affiliate contractor or do the leg work yourself to choose a licensed GC....you won't have much of a window for remedy, so you need a scope of work drafted quickly to make your final "go, no-go" decision. All this is very doable if you orchestrate it...there are a lot of moving parts and tight deadlines, so just make sure you are confident in your systems and this will be very manageable. Good luck!

@Robert Ellis I’m looking for single family properties. Two to three bedrooms with one bathroom or one and one half bath. Between 20k -100k I would like to pay cash not finance. If you could send me a few places that I can pick from that would be good. If possible we can do a video walkthrough of the properties or send images so I can get a good look at the condition of the house that I would like choose to invest in.

@Shan Cao Unfortunately it's a rare occasion we would represent a SFR transaction...just not our game. And if you were to locate a deal, we don't represent any transaction under $75k. You may be better off with a residential real estate agent. Best of luck.
