I would like to learn more about real estate beyond all the readings in books. I want to get a personal feel, find a mentor, and get more detail. What do you think is the best courses?

REIA- Real Estate Investor Association. There is probably a chapter in your area. The local one in Milwaukee has monthly meetings in the evening, monthly breakfasts (tomorrow morning, in fact) and there is a women's group that meets for luncheons. There are also seminars and outings.
I have only attended breakfasts because of time commitments, but have found even these very helpful. You should easily be able to make some connections at your local REIA.
My area also has an apartment association that focuses specifically on landlording issues. Also, there are landlording seminars offered by the city. Lots of real estate networking goes on during the breaks! Maybe there are some in your area.

Find some individuals that have successfully been investing in real estate and learn from them. Most of them don't mind sharing the ups and downs in their investment journey. I guess learning by doing is the best course.

I have taken lots of courses, classes and bootcamps. However they are not the same as a mentor. As mentioned check for a local REIA and also check "Meetups" many areas have small meetup groups of investors.
My experience is the more expensive the course the less you will learn. Many courses are about specific subjects. Do you have a specific type of investing you would like to pursue? Most of what you need you can learn here.
If you want a course on Wholesaling or rehabing I find Steve Cook's materials very good. For legal and accounting John Hyre is very good. Both are priced in the hundreds not thousands.
PS Also Vena Jones Cox has good information for a good value.
