AI Data Centers Dark Side Of Real Estate

AI Data Centers Dark Side Of Real Estate

Member since 2025 · 1 post · 0 votes

As a real estate investor, one of my new red flags of searching for properties is avoiding homes within a 10 mile radius of a AI data center. A lot of residents are very frustrated with current and potential AI data centers being planted in their neighborhoods. Concerns such as the home value decreasing, 24/7 humming noise, increase water bills, increase electric bills and other environmental concerns in regards to health.

Do you see the benefits of investing in homes near an AI data center?

Any type of prudent development takes proper zoning and planning.

I have no experience with this, but with anything my first thought is: How can I add more value.

Although I personally am not a fan of solar, it might make more sense in areas like you mentioned to mitigate or even eliminate long-term energy costs.

    Rain harvesting systems too.
