@Steen H Chery, I second the vote for connecting with @Joe Mueller, he has monthly meet up groups at his TANIS group office in Algonquin which is only 20 minutes or so from you. Joe was an invaluable resource to me when I first got started, and actually still is, he is a wealth of information and is always willing to help out new investors.

    @Steen H Chery - I dont know of any specific meetups in Palentine, but I know the Chicago REIA has meetups in Schaumburg and @Joe Mueller has a great meetup in Algonquin.

    Jane Garvey runs the Chicago Creative Investors Association. CCIA. They meet in Lombard on the third Sunday.

    @Steen H Chery I’d say do it. I personally know quite a few NW suburb investors that go to other groups. If you had good content and networking opportunity, then people would come.
