What is then the alternative? Trump controlling the money supply? Seems pretty fascist to me.

I mean it's already politically controlled. Powell not reducing rates is directly to make trumps economy not as good as it should be. And they objectively cut rates too early to try and help dems in the election. Also it wouldn't be fascist for the government to control it lol. A lot of negatives happened when the fed was established.

That’s the wrong question. Instead, investors should ask: “Will mortgage rates drop, even once the Fed cuts interest rates?”

Well... Interest rates are going lower now only on the hints of the FED lowering its rates... So it's already obvious... :)

Calling the Fed independent is pretty wild. they are objectively withholding rate cuts to spite trump and they objectively tried to use rate cuts (too early) to help at the time joe biden do better in polls. They are being motivated by politics and not by being independent.

Why allow such a bias and non-logical piece on Bigger Pockets it's really damaging to the look of bigger pockets to host such a political piece.

Anyone still talking about a recession, the "independence" of the fed, tariffs negatively, calling the replacement a "loyalist", use words for trump like "bullying". All these hot words indicate someone who can't be taken seriously on any matter especially one of a professional matter involving money.

This article is bias per the use of typical political adjectives like “strong arming” . Powell instigated environmental criteria into the Feds mandate when inflation and employment are thier only two mandates. The US overnight rate is a full 2% higher than our international counterparts. Powell is playing politics with the democratic controlel Fed. The impact of crushing the housing market with high rates while housing costs are the main reason the CPI up is insane ! Keeping rates up in the untested impact of “tarrif negotiations “ is politically based. Not considering the rise in GDP is blindness. Freezing rates for fear of over spending while going billions over budget of the Feds offices is ludicrous bureaucratic cronyism.
How about throwing some of these issues into your self serving article.
