I started a business where I let landlords advertise their properties on my website. Where can I find for rent by owners? I usually drive around the city but I just went nationwide and I am trying to find some places on the internet with landlords. I have tried backpage and craigslist those people usually don't want to be soliciated by businesses. If anyone can help it would be appreciated.
Personally I advertise on my own to save the cost. If your cost are nominal (<$10) you might be able to pick up a few landlords if you can prove to them that you are able to find them quality tenants quickly.
I charge a 1.00 a day on a monthly basis. Right now I am offering half off to homeowners and the bigger companies like the apartment complexes and lofts I sent a letter offering to put there properties on my site for free until I generate some leads.
How many prospective buyers / tenants are you able to attract? Are you just offering a directory type service, or do you actually screen tenants in some way?
If you're just doing a directory type service I think your best model may be to offer free basic listings to build up content and traffic from tenants, then charge for extra stuff like 'featured listing', and photographs in the listing, etc.
