Use Google Maps and turn on the TRAFFIC layer. Do this around rush hour (~5pm) on Friday, and again around lunch time and early afternoon on Saturday. NOTICE WHERE TRAFFIC BACKS UP - in red on Google Maps traffic data. If you can place signs at the most congested intersections at those times, people will have plenty of time to see, read, and call from your sign while they sit in traffic.
We recommend that signs go out Friday evening and picked up Sunday evening, as Mike B. suggested.
