Are maintenance calls hurting leasing productivity
Something I keep noticing in property ops: leasing agents and admins are constantly interrupted by maintenance calls that aren’t urgent.
Over time, this seems to slow leasing follow-ups, create stress, and increase mistakes — even though the calls themselves aren’t emergencies.
Questions for the group:
-
Who handles first-line maintenance calls in your operation?
-
Do you separate urgent vs non-urgent intake?
-
Has anyone successfully reduced interruption without adding staff?
Would love to hear real-world setups.
