Ever heard of DougLyons & Partners from Oakland?

Question

Anybody know "Lender" Douglas Dorsey Lyons & Partners from Oakland?

Several weeks ago I posted on Bigger Pockets in search of a private loan for one of my associates.

Several people responded; one of them being Doug Lyons.

He did his due diligence on the property; drafted loan docs (which were fully executed) and he charged a fee for 3rd party reports.

My client spent significant time and money working with this so-called private lender and then the week before closing (which is supposed to be tomorrow) his wires never came through to escrow and he disappeared.

Anybody looking for a loan ought to avoid this scam artist.

Account Closed there are no such loans ... if you believe there are I have a bridge to sell you.

@Matt Skinner...so sorry to hear. I really wish there was a :Scammers Page or List" on here. Maybe there is and I haven't found it. I feel this is beyond necessary but maybe there is a legal issue. Hope someone chimes in.

@Matt Skinner Interesting. I was contacted by this person just the other day. When I got an email with more info, the name on the email was totally different bu the same phone number. When I called the number, it was strange, there was some clicking like connecting to somewhere else. When the guy answered he had a very hard accent like someone in Africa. From the different names and the weird accent not at all matching the picture profile, I pretty much figured this was a scam. Thanks for posting this, even though it was originally a couple years ago.

I am the real Doug Lyon Lyon. This person using my full name is a scam. He stole my identity two years ago and his is posting on all the investor site trying to get investors to pay him upfront fees. It pisses me off these worthless people ripping people off and giving me a bad name. He has stole my pic off my Facebook page. I teach Real Estate along with flipping, wholesaling and building new. I am from Ca. never been to New York ever. Please contact me directly I want to catch this person. PM me I had to start a new account and have not put a pic yet. One of my students told me I was getting bashed on this site so had to come check it out. Thanks and I hope no one paid him anything. If you ask to talk to him on the phone you know thats not me. He is not even in this country.

Also another one is a website Craigbrokerage.com which has a certain MR Craig who is saying he has Venture capitalist money and offered me $45000.00 for a Mobilization Fee of $850.00 ? Can somebody please investigate this for me ? His LinkedIn profile is mixed with a lady called Jessica Patterson and at times both reply from the same profile

I was just contacted by him on Linkedln where he offered me $60000.00 for a Loan fee of $950.00 ? I believe he is a member here as well on Bigger pockets ? Any suggestions ??

Dylan Vargas, that's a great idea! Maybe one of the forums could be dedicated to suspicious lending or something that might not push the legal envelope too much. At least that would give people a go-to place to look for info.
