Break me off a piece of that...

You’ve been busting your butt. Working really hard and hopefully you’re starting to see that hard work pay off. Maybe you’re not seeing it as much as you’d like. Well part of the problem is at this point you may be working too hard. You’re craving success, but are also craving a little you time.

I’m giving you permission to take a break. No more self-inflicted guilt trips. Cut yourself some well-earned slack (now my caveat to that is…Make sure you do something every week or even every day to keep moving yourself forward). Here are 8 things that I believe can be healthy for you to do if you to reward your efforts.

1. Order In Dinner – too crazed to cook a fabulous dinner for the fam? Grab some healthy takeout and save that roasted rosemary chicken recipe for tomorrow.

2. Skip a workout – It’s not slacking off; its well-deserved recovery time (mentally and physically).

3. Be a Slave to bad TV – Quit hiding your undying love for the Real Housewives or those hour long crime dramas (yes, I’m guilty of these). Mindless TV is a great de-stressor, so tune in the kick back.

4. Play Hooky – Everyone deserves their very own Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. Sleep in, splurge on a fancy schmancy lunch. Your boss will wonder how you got so refreshed.

5. Belt one out in the Car – Why wouldn’t you sing on the freeway? It’s about the cheapest thrill going.

6. Pull a disappearing act – Taking an hour to put your life on silence (no calls, emails, texts, tweets or Facebook) isn’t rude – it’s your right…and an amazing sanity saver.

7. Indulge in a late-night pint – Whether it’s a beer or Ben & Jerry’s don’t beat yourself up over an occasional indulgence.

Ignore that pile of laundry – Surely it can wait just one more day, right? You may be forced to recycle a t-shirt, but that secret is all yours

Best of Success, Andrea
