Get Inspired to Accomplish More

We're well into the new year and some of the shine has worn off. It's back to the reality of managing life and trying to achieve new goals. If you're feeling tied down to a mile-long list of to-do’s? Start checking them off one with these get-motivated ideas.

1. Say No to Negativity – A lot of us get stuck in a why-won’t-it-work mode when we feel overwhelmed, but dwelling on negative thoughts holds you back from making new beginnings and having true success. Get them out of your system by writing down your thoughts and feelings every day. Then you can put the negative stuff aside and move on. You’ll boost your self-esteem and happiness by gaining control of your situation. This will pave the way for you to get excited about doing everything you have to do.

2. Break it down – It’s intimidating to shoot straight for major goals. So create sub-goals that will help get you to your ultimate target. If you’ve wanted to figure out your finances, for instance, begin by picking up a good primer on the topic, then ask friends/others on this site for what they do or for a reference for a financial planner. Just be sure your steps are concrete and move you toward your objective.

3. Focus on each tiny pay-off – As you tackle each sub-goal, gloat a little about your amazing progress. Worrying about what will happen if you don’t get there, will only bog you down. Instead, jot down all the great changes you’ve made. Put that list by your dresser, on your mirror, in your wallet, on your phone where you’ll see it every day – it’ll spur you to keep going.
