Love me some tenant candidates!

Showings for a one/one garage apartment...

Candidate one, 5 minutes before appt - calls me, "I'm here, where are you?" , me - "I'm 4 blocks away, see you shortly. Show apt. "How much" (we've covered this already) $495.00mo, $400 dep, $20 application fee. "WHAT! I thought the deposit was $20". Me - nope, wouldn't cover me for too many damages, would it? Dull look. "For that I should get two bedrooms." Me - sounds like this isn't a match, good luck to you.

Candidate two - calls, "we're a long way away, the gps steered us wrong." Me - I'll be here for another half hour", gave better directions. They show up soon. "It's exactly what we want but we don't have any money until next Thursday. Will you hold it for $100?" No.

Candidate number three - no show.

It's a landlord life ... Three more tomorrow.

  1. I found the best time to get tenants is mid-month.

  2. ... oh ... and here I thought you didn't like me any longer ;)

  3. In tiring to reply I accidentally deleted @ Roy N's comment but yes, this is exactly what one gets from the end-of-the-month pool. Miss $20 Deposit said she had been driving around all day..

  4. I had a showing last night at 7:45. 8:08 Recieve a text from the tenant. I can't make it I had to take my daughter to the Dr. Can I reschedule? Me: Nope. 20 min after the apt started was not the proper time to tell me this.

  5. Hahaha... Quality pool you have there. :)

    1. An endless source of amusement anyway...
