Motivational Monday – Just Keep Trying

Optimism is the most important human trait because it allows us to evolve our ideas, to improve our situation, and to hope for a better tomorrow.
— Seth Godin

Making offers over and over again can get discouraging. However, you can choose to lose hope and give up or you can choose to keep going. Your attitude is one of your best assets. When you choose to keep going, you typically choose to find a better way to accomplish what you are working on. You spend the extra time to become more of an expert in your field. As you do that, you are more likely to get the results you want.

Being told no is not the worst thing. Not learning from what you did wrong is the worst thing. If you are giving self-storage owners the same story every time and they are all hanging up on you, that is a good indication that you should change your story. The same is true with Realtors and Lenders.

However, if you choose to make changes to your introduction so that you get better results then that is a great success. You don’t want to get discouraged by your mistakes or being told no. Instead consider them ways to learn how to improve.

Thomas Edison said that he didn’t fail 10,000 times before he invented the light bulb, he said that he learned 10,000 ways not to do it. Edison was trying to do something that no one else had done before but you are not. Many people have had great success with self-storage before you and many of them are willing to share their formulas for success and teach you how to avoid the missteps that they made. Take advantage of educational opportunities and put the skills that you learn into practice. As always, happy investing.
