Has any of you guys read some of all of this book yet? I want to get it but the price is up there, which i honestly won't mind assuming it's a useful book. I also kind of wonder if what worked back in the 1970s and 1980s era would still work in todays real estate climate.

Hey Tony, I'm interested to know how you (an actual real estate investor) likes the book. I just bought the one million off amazon for $15 =). I've recently started learning REI my self and I hope Mr. Nickerson will help me understand it better. Any input you have, favorite chapters or parts as you read through the book will be much help as well. Thanks Tony!

hey Dawish,
I am going to be painfully honest here and say that I did not finish the book. I read about 4 chapters and stopped. The reason why was b/c although i found it informational, his style of writing was not one that I enjoyed reading. maybe i'm not a go getter when i comes to reading books, but i kind of grew up on reading sales books so i like it when authors talk at me like a real conversation and not lecturing at me (i didn't finish college, go figure).
So again, the book was very informative, but I didn't finish it so sorry I couldn't help you out with better advice =)

I know this question was asked a few years ago, but as a new member who is just learning from Bigger Pockets, I decided to get it.
The way I look at it, I will read perhaps a dozen books or more, for information. Then when I am ready, I will pick the niche I can work with as a beginner. However, I will be well informed to pick my niche, instead of guessing.
As a new member, I begin with Bigger Pockets, combing every book, article, podcast and posting I can get my hands on.
Pertaining to this book, just like accounting, the rules don't really change. Sure, like everything else, the process needs to be adapted according to the type of business, area, era and property we are contemplating to get. It is just like money, it has been around for a long time, but one of the changes is that the value of money goes down. Thus, with the properties the value of property either goes up or down.
Here's a link I found in which I downloaded this book as a PDF for free. As new investor I need to save my "pennies" for investing. Therefore, what ever I can learn with little or no money, I am going to go for it.
