Hello! My name is Fernando, 32, currently working in commercial construction full time, and want to start investing in long term rental real estate properties, I been researching and reading a lot about real estate and wanted to see if there is anyone that I can connect with for guidance in the Cleveland area!?
Welcome aboard Fernando. 1st thing you'll want to checkout is The Ultimate Guide to Grading Cleveland Neighborhoods. Countless investors have used this free tool over the last 11+ years to get themselves a base level of knowledge of the Cleveland market.
From there reach out to me, I'll love to talk shop with you. I've dealt with 1,000's of tenants and properties here in Cleveland. Have made millions in the Section 8 space.
Good on you Fernando, the best part of the Cleveland market is that every investor wants to see you succeed. A good start is seeing if this life is really for you. Come to one of the networking events, Investorsource CLE is a good one, Great Lakes REIA is decent. You'll see me there.

Welcome, Fernando! Your construction background is a big plus since you’ll have a better feel for rehab costs than most new investors. I’m active around Cleveland and work with investors on long-term rentals, so happy to connect and share what I’m seeing in the market.
Hey @Fernando Mendoza , welcome to the BP Forum! Which property types interest you most, SFR, 2-4 MF, or 5+ MF? What is your price range/down payment amount? Are you looking for turn-key properties or something along the lines of a "fixer upper"?
@Fernando Mendoza Cleveland is a strong market for cashflow. A lot of investors do well but you need to make sure that you are buying in the right areas. B/C areas are the best performers for cashflow and appreciation.
Buy next to areas like Cleveland clinic or areas next to major jobs, construction, and where growth might be happening.
I've got a strong team in Cleveland. Happy to put you in touch with my contractors, lenders, and pm's that take care of a lot of my business and work for me there.
