Often wondered. How much would an out-of-state investor charge if they were local here in Cleveland to be someone else's LAIC? With the risk, or potentially going to jail. For somebody else's property. I wonder what that service would cost. Asking for a friend. 馃槒

Good on you for sorting this out before the registration is due. Cleveland requires owners who live outside Cuyahoga County to name a local agent on the rental registration, so it isn't optional. On the going rate, ask your property manager first. A lot of Cleveland managers act as LAIC for the properties they manage and fold it into the management fee, so a separate yearly charge mostly comes up on self-managed rentals. When you compare paid options, ask what they do when a violation notice or inspection letter arrives. An agent who just forwards mail can end up costing more than one who calls you the same day, because a missed date is still yours as the owner. Do you have a manager on it yet? That decides whether you need to pay for this separately at all.
