IMO, if a tenant is not willing to pay for their own screening, they are most likely not going to be a reliable tenant so it is a good first checkpoint in the process.

In the old days, I'd have to deal with checkpoints and hope that the one person who notarized documents was working that day since they never posted a set schedule.Performing notes are a lot easier.
