Depending upon how desperate and cost effective you are, you can rent furniture for staging to give proper visual of the house too during filming.

If I had it right in front of me I could see it visually and fix right away.I had a similar problem with one of my 4 unit buildings years ago.

I run a virtual staging & 3D visualization company outside of New York City. 

Every day I wake up between 4:30 and 5:30 and spend 10 minutes in guided meditation, 10 minutes reading and saying my personal affirmations, 10 minutes of visualizing the biggest things I want in life, 10 minutes of reading (plus and hour of audio books while I drive in), 10 minutes writing, 20 minutes exercising (most days anyway), and finally 15 minutes looking at my yearly goals and aligning my monthly goals to meet that, then aligning my weekly goals to achieve my monthlies, then setting the day's goals to achieve the weekly goals.i do this for 4 key areas: Spiritual - what am i doing to make myself a better person?

This visual attached also helps paint a picture and tell a bit of that story :)

I have a great visual aid: "Hey son I would like to make a legitimate offer to you.

As @Manolo D. recommended, get a break down by scope of work so you can visually verify progress with each draw.

Pocket that money and also gives you a chance you visually inspect everything regualrly.

I use Google earth to get an idea of roof tops, and can pin them up for a "hit list" type visual aide.
