Yeah, we’re entering into a softer RE market for sure - in some markets especially, but I run an agency that does real estate PPC and SEO in a few dozen markets, and we haven’t seen huge declines in lead volume across the board although certain markets seem to be more volatile than others.

Some low cost index funds will give you better passivity and better appreciation, with a little more volatility.

Equities don’t offer any downside protection and tons of volatility.

@Todd Concienne - Are you concerned about the perceived volatility of gold?

Obviously those investments are susceptible to market volatility, but being young I have no problem taking on that risk now, and I could always dip into that money if I really needed to. 

Less volatile than stocks.

The short-term rental space is volatile when it comes to lawmaking so you have to be cautious on the buying side. 

And when you grow too fast (especially in a volatile market like the one we're in) mistakes can get made.

They have a little higher gains (a lot more volatility) but a syndicator who is willing to put you in a deal with more than 10-20% of your net worth is asking for trouble.

I'm sooo disappointed that our country has done NOTHING to stop these volatile lending practices that lead up to this mess in the first place.
