If you are looking to be easy on the eventual owner - and perhaps command a small premium in sales price - you can build a 1200 ft^2 energy efficient (lookup: Passivhaus) home, where the end-user's energy costs could be as littles as $250 - $500 per year.Capital costs to build a Passivhaus will be a little higher (10 - 20% pending on available skills and experience in your area) here in NA, but the end result is a home that is 70 - 80% more efficient than what is typically being built.

The prices of property that are right inside North Conway can become expensive, but if you look at surrounding towns (such as Intervale) you will find cheaper properties than can command substantial rents.

I did score good deals, I've raised rents 11% since purchasing and should command 13% higher rents from the rehab units over what previous tenant was paying.

I've seen it many times.Like any dog, and person for that matter, there can be the occasional "mentally just not right" issue, but the ones who are "bred for fighting" are actually just obeying their owners commands & sadly, doing what is expected of them.I mean, come on, haven't you ever read Peter Pan.

The objective:  If they want to sell later they can target a homeowner versus just targeting another investorsub $50K- We're not big fans of these properties but if you get a property cheap enough & can still command the rent then the taxes don't concern you as much.
