The HOA has tried to give me a hard time and they fined me several times because the color of my roof was black and not grey (seriously?)

Fresh paint in a neutral color, consistent flooring throughout, bright LED lighting, updated hardware, and a tidy kitchen and bath with a good deep clean or a simple refresh usually beat expensive upgrades on appraisal and rents.

I was just up for the weekend to enjoy a cabin and spend time on the lake, It was amazing to be there in the fall and see the colors around the lake.

Do not let your bias for RE color your judgement - especially if you are a boomer that by definition has never had to invest during a prolonged bear market in U.S.

No wonder that, as mentioned in the attached article, pretty much everything is described with rose-colored glasses and there is a lack of anything negative.As far as I know, they haven't promoted a development in the Dominican Republic, in spite of the fact that it can be a great place to retire and invest.
