@Bianca Gandhi That is the norm - tax assessed value should be lower than market value or else everyone would be able to protest their taxes.

Also, Barcelona has outlawed short term rentals from Air BnB in order to control issues they've been having with tons of tourists, and they've been fining people for renting without permits:https://www.theguardian.com/travel/2017/aug/11/barcelona-spain-anti-tourism-protest-segway-banI believe renting your place out for longer than 31 days is possible, and there are property management companies that could help with that, but I just couldn't find anything in the area I wanted to be in that was less than 200,000 Euros.

If the appraisal comes back low, and your appraisal came in higher, you can point to your appraisal and protest the bank's.
