I see storage facilities of all types around here from boats and rv's parked in a wide open (fenced) grass pasture, to a professionally built facility with units ranging from open, to covered, to enclosed and locked with 50amp outlets for batteries and water hookups.

The big thing is they always check the smoke and CO2 detectors so always have the batteries replaced and have some batteries (and a step ladder) on-hand just in case.

Mine has not flooded but I have 2 sump pits with 3 pumps, 2 of which are backed up by a natural gas powered generator with an automatic transfer switch and one pump which is a battery only.

Sorry the batteries went out in my key board2. these properties come as surplus tax sale abandon  like Morris invest clients got roped into.3. foreclosures4. foreclosures of landlords who just got sick of the tenants and walked away5. homeowners who realize the house is not worth much and walk away6. burnt out landlords who have had enough and just sell to get out of them.the houses in many markets and a lot of indy these are 50 to 100 year old homes.. they have been cycled and cycled and cycled..

Run all the sinks, flush all the toilets, run the shower and tub to make sure they are OK.Put fresh batteries in anything that needs them - smoke detectors, doorbell, garage door opener remotes, closet lights, etc.Make sure you have enough door keys for both you and the tenants.
