I am currently finishing the final semester of my undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering.

I think it depends on what you are doing for deal flow, what you know now, where you are working, etc.IMHO Transaction Engineers look at leads and say: how can I help the seller and make money too. 

I'm an engineer working in the oil industry and have spent most of the last 4 years travelling constantly.

Many free sites like Zillow will only show recently sold homes in a search engine.
