Wai Chan Tax write off for rental property in Turbo tax
29 March 2019 | 7 replies
I have read about two possible legal ways to write off some of the rental income: Take a partial dispositions of asset for a rental property and use that loss to write off the income in 1040 https://www.thebalance.com/partial-dispositions-3192873 The new tax law said we can use the section 179 to deduct the entire cost of the eligible property for the rental property such as roof, HVAC instead of depreciating it over 27.5 years. However, I don't know how to implement this in turbo tax.

John Stoeber How Are You Managing Mid-Size Apartment Buildings (40-80 units)?
23 October 2020 | 10 replies

Last year, Mayor Garcetti set a goal to build 100K new units by 2021 and I know from following him that he has been involved with ULI and local governments in identifying the causes behind the shortages as well implementing policy to enable/encourage more high-density development in the area.I just returned from checking out some open houses in Compton, Inglewood, West Adams, and in the south side of Mid-City .What I'm hearing from everyone I speak to is the same: there's no inventory so everything is flying off the shelves with multiple offers.
