it's real easy for the wifey to say, "oh honey, i want a new kitchen floor" 6 months later, "oh this damn sink and bathroom, i hate it" and 1 year later, "what if we added another room, knock this wall down, and buy a new refridgerator...."

You can get capital gains tax treatment if you sell it after living in the house for 2 out of 5 years (READ: KEEP AN EXTRA $1000+ FOR EVERY $10,000 IN PROFIT).Make it nice (visit your neighbors that have nice looking houses), not over the top, and take care of the house while you're living in it.

As for displaced Katrina victim's.....I agree that some of the individuals are not adjusting well to their new enviroment but, many are becoming productive citizens and adding to Houston's strong economy.

Above the link you clicked on it says "Ads by Google" . . . that said, I went to the site you mention, and It states that it will cost $35 for full access to the listings - you had to give them your credit card to access them. . . .
