Would you try to replace all the cast iron while replacing this section?

My intent is to close on, reposition and resale in 5-7 years a great value add opportunity well under cost of replacement in the area based on the following criteria:Units 70-120age range 1980-2005class B & C, workforce housingSouthern Austin MSA & Northeast San Antonio MSAI know it's a very competitive market and that there will be some challenges as we get through the current environment.

Keeping in mind I’m a full-time Design engineer, but I’m willing to put all my free time including weekends and holidays in helping and gaining the right experience and built the right connections.Please share your advice below, I would love to hear from you.Thanks in advance and I really appreciate the opportunity.

If you find a local bank that will offer HELOCs on rental properties you could get a decent chunk of money to use as well as keeping your equity in the homes you already own.I recently replaced the remainder of my mortgage on my rental property with a first-position HELOC.
