I suspect the reason you're being dropped is because of how the policy was written originally with regards to the two dwellings or they general issue with two dwellings on the same parcel.It's all about the reasoning for the cancellation and the communication up front about the actual property characteristics.One way or another if the properties are in good condition you should be able to get coverage.

• The dwelling must cover 100% of the rebuild cost estimate OR the dwelling must cover the loan amount, provided it equals no less than 80% of the rebuild cost estimate. i asked because the price for a 4 plex cost 180k and the replacement cost is calculated by the insurance agent as 1M to 2M due to which the insurance premium went high.

So I think the # of dwellings lost in the 2016 fire was around 2400, but not all of them would have been rentals but probably most of them were I am guessing.
