For example, I’ll include a conditional extension option—the tenant has first right of refusal, but they need to confirm their intent to extend by a specific date (say 30–60 days before the lease ends).That way, I’m not holding the calendar indefinitely and risking vacancies, but I’m also not over-booking and leaving a good tenant with no options.
