As with most municipalities and jurisdictions, the evolution of the AirBnB market has spawned regulation and restrictions on where, when and how a STR can operate.

There are SEVERE penalties in CA OR And WA for working with folks in foreclosure if you do not follow the letter of the law... there were many foreclosure rescue scammers out of FLA that got shut down by the local AG's and this spawned this legislation.

It spawned an entire currency market, much of which is more stable & better-running than Bitcoin itself.

A whole cottage industry was spawned by him. 3 day class and you're an expert qualified to handle people's retirement money.

Then this guy spawns a whole sub set of students who then try to do the same model.. some will be fine but you watch others will have issues.. its just inevitable.. 

Many of my interests spawned from finding ways to save money.

Even if you happened to be the spawn of Bob Villa, that 4K should be saved for emergencies and not rehab...period.   

Also you can say the same thing about BP and everyone is talking about buying rentals.. its the herd mentality and when all these folks started buying in the deep trench after the GFC they expected the 2% rule or more that's where it was spawned.. now its 1% is acceptable and next thing you will know its .05%  etc etc.. the herd is alive and well in buying rental real estate in the US>. and I for one am happy to see it.. if the herd was not buying in many markets those markets would be flatt on their  @$$  and devolving but with all this out of state and out of country investment it saved many many cash flow markets from implosions.. since the organic market in the actual area IE local investors is not sufficient to buy all the homes that are there.. think about that one.. !!!
