Any Exp Realty agents open to sharing their experience?

I’m a new agent so I’m still feeling them out but coming from Keller Williams I feel like I had more support there. I switched because exp realty seemed to have better commission structures but it comes with doing more on my own. Maybe I’m looking at it the wrong way so I’m open to any agents sharing their experience.

@Salih Muhammad I can't tell you exactly what eXp does, and honestly every brokerage is different. I have a few colleagues who love it there, so keep doing your research. They all say they'll train you and give you guidance, but what does that actually mean? Broker interviews are a critical part of the process, but in my experience a lot of them are desperate for another name on the roster and make a pitch that isn't always reality. The best way I know to find out is to talk to the agents already inside that system. Find a company that doesn't need you but wants you to grow, and the same applies in reverse. You have to be willing to double down and really invest the time in it, especially in this changing market. The business is going to be extremely competitive, and we're going to see agents dropping out. The ones who remain will be the ones who treat it seriously and have the right support behind them.

When you're comparing brokerages, look at the full package. It's a lot more than the training and the environment. A lot of agents want, or need, the leads, but they aren't willing to do what it takes to actually win and build their business. The real question is whether you can grow a scalable business there. We built our team on the standard that you have to be the best, so you train like it and show up like it. Our agents train more than anyone I know, and they don't really care what the market is doing. My team has offices in the SE PA area and we know it well, so I know how hard the hunt for a solid home can be. Happy to talk more if you ever want to. Best of luck.

@Salih Muhammad I've been with eXp Realty since 2018 and came with 15 years experience... I couldn't be happier as I love not only that I keep more $$ in my pocket but also have the opportunity to scale my business nationwide (and internationally) with only one '$16K cap' but also am rewarded by eXp for sponsoring agents and helping them to grow their business. eXp can be challenging for new agents- but with our mentor program and 24/7 online training and Broker support you should have access to all the resources you need to grow. Have you joined the HUB? are you attending your live Broker meeting and training where you have the opportunity to ask questions and 'meet' agents in your community? Happy to chat if I can be of assistance...

I’ve been hearing there’s more earning potential. I’m still waiting to receive all of the resources from my sponsoring broker. How are they? Are the resources that effective?

    Hello @Salih Muhammad ,

I left KW and went to eXp in 2018.

My experience has been similar to what you mention here: a better commission structure with less 'support'. By 'Support', I mean, there weren't as many people physically around me to greet me when walking in the office and there weren't as many agents in the office making calls/doing deals.

Depending on your sponsor, mentor, or upline, you will encounter varying levels of support in any brokerage.

What do you feel you're missing in terms of support?

What do you need from a brokerage?

Have you communicated this with your state broker, sponsor, mentor, etc?

If you've done so already with little-no help, have you tried contacting other eXp members and team leaders?

I ask this because the level of support I received when joining eXp was very different from KW but it has evolved over the years.

Initially, all of my support came from my sponsor and team leader. Now, I have dozens of people throughout eXp (both in and out of my downline) who I am in touch with to ask/answer questions, throw around ideas, and share referrals.

    All the best!

    Abel
