What do you believe sets a successful agent apart from others? What are your experiences with agents that you found helpful/not helpful in your buying/selling/investment process?

The best agents I have dealt with are great communicators and anticipate the next steps in the transaction, rather than waiting until the last minute. These two things keeps a transaction on track, everyone is informed about what's going on, and it makes the whole process look easy. 

Also, I always put together an email thread with the agents and attorneys from both sides so there is a place for us to share status updates. You'd be amazed at how few agents initiate this.
