Can anyone help me understand how much it will cost for a full Gut Renovation Cost for 2750 Sq.Ft House in Virginia Beach? And how long it will need for construction? It is a one story house. Thanks!

Here are what needs to be done:

  • remodel of two bathrooms to be ADA adaptable
  • add one regular full bathroom
  • remodel of a 200sqft kitchen
  • relocate the main entrance with a new entry door
  • Open up the current living/dining/kitchen area to be a great room. It needs to replace some walls with columns and a new beam
  • Replace the current sun-room with a proper addition (about 400sqft)
  • A new mudroom with relocated laundry room
  • New ceiling
  • Roofing replacement
  • Add a couple skylights
  • flooring: keep the wood floor in great room area, replace flooring in all the other rooms
  • repaint the whole house

Lots of time, and lots of money.  Have 3 general contractors walk the property with you and give bids - that's the only realistic way to tackle this.

I could give price range for standard items - roofing cost/square, paint cost/sqft, flooring cost/sqft - but none of that will mater with a project this large. Timeline will also be a function of who your contractor is, how much work they are subbing out, how well you do with obtaining/passing permits, etc, how old the home is, etc.
