Real estate markets don't stop at city limits. If you invest around Dallas, you probably care just as much about Plano, Frisco and Fort Worth. Until now, keeping up with a whole market meant following each city one at a time. Starting today, you can work with entire metro areas in the forums.

Follow a metro

  • Follow a metro like Dallas-Fort Worth-Arlington, and you're following every city and neighborhood inside it.
  • Location alerts (email and push) now cover new discussions anywhere in the metros you follow.
  • Your Followed Locations page and your feed show discussions from across each metro you follow.
  • If you already follow a city and its metro, you'll still get just one alert per discussion.

Tag a metro

  • When you start or edit a discussion, you can now pick a metro as its location. This is a good fit for questions about a whole market, like "Is Tampa Bay still cash flowing?"
  • The location search now groups results by metro. Searching "Dallas" shows the Dallas-Fort Worth metro first, with its cities listed underneath.

Browse by metro

  • Filtering the forums by a metro shows discussions tagged to the metro and to every city and neighborhood inside it.
  • Filtering by a single city still shows just that city, for when you want a narrower view.

To get started, search for your market in the forum location filter and follow it. Let us know what you think below, and tell us if your market is missing or grouped oddly.
