Real Estate Investing in Northern VA

I am a recent college grad and I'm looking to get started in real estate investing with a friend of mine who is also a recent grad. I'm moving to Northern VA to start my career. Real estate is extremely expensive in the area. Does anyone have any advice on how to get started? Thank you!

    @Mason Field

    Northern Virginia is a great place to invest , just realize it is extremely expensive and difficult to cash flow. You could consider house hacking to reduce out of pocket expenses.

    It’s definitely an appreciation play not a cash flow play but with the federal government here appreciation is consistent - you won’t get super high appreciation like some places but also don’t get high depreciation as well.

    Househacking is the best way to start in the DMV.

    What Russell said, house hack your way to the next property. In Northern VA I think new construction townhomes are a great option with 3-5 bedrooms.
