I quit my job today

I quit my job today

BP brothers and sisters,  I quit the last job I will ever have today to focus on RE investing.  In 2003, while working in corporate America someone suggested Rich Dad Poor Dad to me. Eleven years and 28 properties later I'm finished with the rat race; I'm 50.  I wanted to share this with the BP community because none of my working friends want to hear it.

Congrats Dad!

Agree with @Chris Simmons  You should expand on the story.  It's been inspiring to watch and I'm sure others would appreciate it as well.

@Brandon Turner, although I am admittedly biased, I have been wanting to nominate my dad as a podcast candidate for some time.  I can't think of a better 50th birthday and retirement present.  Hilarious, down to earth, and sharp guy with a great story and unusual business model!

Thank @Thom H.  and everyone else.  Someone told me when I was starting out that RE wasn't a get rich quick kinda' deal.... it's a get rich very slowly deal.  I'm not rich but neither are my "former" co-workers.  I can' believe the response from everyone.  It means a lot to me.  Thanks again.

Bravo @glenn Mccrorey! Congrats on having the cajones to cut the chord.  I was <ahem> "helped" out of my day job two years ago.  Best thing that ever happened to me.

    Cheers,

    Jeff

Glenn, congratulations! Agree with @Jeff Pollack on having the guts to leave the security of a JOB. I took too much time to leave when I could have done so several years ago. I would be a lot better off had I left my job sooner and did real estate investing full time.

Congratulations!  I am always glad to hear when RE investing has allowed another person to quit their job.   I have some relatives that will never leave the safety net of a job  or even invest in RE due to the not thinking outside of the box (or cubicle).

You jerk!  You're right where I want to be!  I'm super jealous!  HA!  Seriously though, Congratulations!!  I have the exact goal you're now doing.  Being financially able to not worry about a job.  Although, I'll likely keep working just because it keeps me busy and I like the place I work at. :)
