Hi All,
I have a unique situation where there is a property of a close friend's grandmother who recently passed away. The upkeep on the property has been poor. Now that the property is passed down to the heirs, they are ready to sell it but there has been back and fourth discussion about the price. It seems like fair way to settle the debate is getting an appraisal.
Does anyone know a good appraiser in the Madison, Wisconsin or greater area that would be a good in this situation?

Yeah, appraisals cost $500 or so. We just had one done for a refinance. Realtors can give opinions on price. That sounds like that's all you need. Do you plan to list the house for sale? The listing agent can certainly advise.

Thank you for your responses. It seems like contacting a real estate agent might be the route to go before getting an appraisal. Any have any good real estate offices in Madison, WI that they worked with that can do a comparative market analysis they liked?
Tanya, I think grand children will likely purchase it. They just want to make sure they are not overpaying for it.
