Hey BP,
I was wondering to hear from someone who is familiar with the Chicago market. I live 30 minutes south of the city and have been hearing there are very good deals in Chicago, but you have to purchase in the right neighborhood.
I am interested in multi family rental properties and fix and flip.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thank you,
Ryan B.
Saw some of your posts on the BP forums and you've had some great input! I'm new to REIand really interested in renting out multi-families in the Forest Park / Belmont Central area .I was wondering if you'd like to connect and share some ideas! I'd love to hear your thoughts

Hello Chino! I'd love to connect. I sent to you a college request.
Would love to meet up with you at one of BP's Chicago meetups or perhaps at @Lumi Ispas next seminar.

@Chino Santos I am with you. Bought MFH in forest park a couple years ago. Continue to look there, brookfield, riverside, OP (have looked at a couple on Austin). Looking to continue to build my portfolio with places from the area.

@Chino Santos Forest Park is great but as soon as we got the one there, it was no longer a secret. It isn't a large market so there is not a ton of inventory. There are also quite a few people I know scouting that market. So when something comes up, you have to be ready to jump (I know it isn't that uncommon with MFH). I love it though. I love the downtown and it is a great rental market.
I cannot claim to know East Garfield that well. If you go just west of the United Center, it does feel quite a bit different and there is development. But who knows. And beyond that, I just like some of the areas outside of Chicago better. So staying out of the city for now.

Thanks @Jeff Dulla! I'll keep checking Forest Park and your suggestions. If ever you're in the area, maybe we could grab a coffee. I'd love to hear more about your REI stories in Illinois.
My e-mail address is in my profile, otherwise I could also email you.
My next Investment Seminar is this Saturday from 10:00-12:00 at my West Loop Office: 1161 W Madison. You are welcome and you can bring some friends. :)
And I love both markets: Forest Park and East Garfield Park.
