Buying a house for rental purpose in Houston , good idea ?

Hello All, 

I'm very new to real estate market, but want to buy my 1st investment property for renting it. Can you please tell me if its right time to buy a house in Houston and what all the things to consider before buying a house. 

I'm also thinking to have property management firm to handle it , as I'm pretty new to this business.. 

Any suggestions are much appreciated.
