Do all agents require you to get pre-qualified/pre-approved befor

I have never purchased a home before and am renting right now.

Do all agents require you to get pre-qualified/pre-approved before actually showing you homes? What percentage of agents will require that you get pre-qualified and pre-approved before showing you homes in the area? Also, should you use their lenders or find your own? What are the pros and cons of each?

    Id say in excess of 90% agents will require you to get preapproved before showing you properties.

    As for lenders, it just depends.  Top agents are typically going to recommend good lenders (though not always).  No one wants to waste your time if you are using a bad lender that will write a preapproval letter for a corpse, then screw up the closing.
